AC Gas Refill Dubai β€”
Leak Found, Fixed, Refilled.

We never just top up the gas and leave. Every refill includes a leak test first β€” because refilling without fixing the leak means it runs out again in weeks. Same-day service across Dubai.

Signs your AC is low on refrigerant

Refrigerant does not get consumed in a healthy system β€” if levels are low, there is a leak. These are the signs to look for.

🌑️

Blowing warm air

Unit runs but air is barely cool or warm. The most common sign of low refrigerant in Dubai summers.

❄️

Ice on copper pipes

Frost or ice forming on the indoor unit or copper lines β€” low pressure causes the evaporator to freeze over.

πŸ”„

AC never reaches set temp

Runs continuously without cooling the room to the thermostat setting β€” compressor is overworking on low gas.

πŸ’Έ

DEWA bill spiking

Low refrigerant forces the compressor to run longer and harder, consuming significantly more electricity.

πŸ”Š

Hissing sound

Hissing or bubbling from the AC unit β€” often the sound of refrigerant escaping through a crack or loose valve.

πŸ’§

More water than usual

Excessive condensation or water dripping indoors β€” frozen coils melting when the AC cycles off.

⚠️

Why we always check for leaks before refilling

Refrigerant in a properly working AC system never runs out β€” it cycles continuously in a sealed loop. If your gas is low, it means there is a leak somewhere. Many companies top up the gas and leave. Within 2–4 weeks the same problem returns, and you pay again. We find and fix the leak first, then refill β€” so the fix actually lasts.

Refrigerant types

Which gas does your AC use?

Check your outdoor unit β€” there is a sticker that lists the refrigerant type. We carry all three common types used in Dubai.

R22

AED 350 – 600

Older gas used in units installed before 2010. Being phased out globally β€” harder to source. If your unit uses R22 and needs major repair, we'll advise on upgrading.

MOST COMMON IN DUBAI

R410A

AED 160 – 280

Standard refrigerant in most Dubai split ACs installed from 2010–2022. Widely available, reliable in high temperatures. Check your outdoor unit sticker.

R32

AED 180 – 300

Newer, more eco-friendly refrigerant. Used in most ACs installed after 2022. Better efficiency in Dubai heat, lower environmental impact than R410A.

Gas refill cost in Dubai

Price confirmed on-site after pressure check β€” we quote before touching anything.

Service Cost (AED) Notes
Leak detection / pressure test Free Always done before any gas is added
Minor top-up (R410A / R32, 1–1.5 ton) 160 – 280 Small pressure drop, no major leak found
Full recharge (R410A / R32, 1.5–2 ton) 250 – 450 System evacuated and recharged by weight
R22 recharge (older units) 350 – 600 R22 costs more due to phase-out scarcity
Minor leak repair + refill 300 – 700 Valve, flare, or small pipe joint β€” fixed same visit
Major leak repair (coil or pipe) 400 – 1,200 Depends on location and severity β€” quoted on-site
How it works

Our refill process β€” step by step

Takes 30–45 minutes for most units. Here is exactly what the technician does.

01

Pressure check with manifold gauges

Technician connects gauges to the service ports and reads system pressure. This confirms whether gas is actually low before anything else happens.

02

Leak detection

Electronic sniffer or UV dye used to locate the source of the leak. Minor leaks (valve cores, flare joints) are fixed on the spot. Major coil leaks are quoted separately.

03

Evacuation (if full recharge needed)

For a complete recharge, the system is vacuumed to remove all moisture and air before new refrigerant goes in. Skipping this step causes compressor damage over time.

04

Recharge by weight

Correct amount of refrigerant added by weight β€” not just until pressure "looks right". Overcharging is as damaging as undercharging.

05

Performance test

Unit runs for 10–15 minutes. Supply air temperature checked at the grille β€” should be 10–14Β°C cooler than return air on a properly charged system.

FAQ

Common questions

How often does AC gas need refilling in Dubai?
In a healthy, well-maintained AC system β€” never. Refrigerant is sealed and does not get consumed. If your AC needs a refill every year, you have an unresolved leak that needs proper repair, not just another top-up.
How do I know which gas type my AC uses?
Check the sticker on your outdoor compressor unit β€” it lists the refrigerant type (R22, R32, or R410A) and the exact quantity the system holds. If the sticker is faded, send us a photo and we can identify it from the model number.
Can I just top up the gas without fixing the leak?
Technically yes β€” but it will run out again, usually within 2–6 weeks depending on the size of the leak. You'll pay for another refill and potentially damage the compressor by running it on low refrigerant repeatedly. We always recommend fixing the leak first.
My AC was just refilled elsewhere but it's warm again β€” why?
Almost certainly the leak was not found and fixed before the refill. The refrigerant has simply escaped again through the same leak point. We will locate and repair the leak properly this time before refilling.
Is the refill service available same day?
Yes β€” in most cases across Dubai we can arrange same-day service. Message us on WhatsApp with your area and we'll confirm an ETA. Emergency refills are available 24/7 at a small after-hours surcharge.

AC not cooling?
We'll find the leak & fix it.
